Engagement: Chelsey & John

I’m always impressed at how much variety you can get in a 2 hour engagement photo shoot. Change of scenery and a different outfit and VOILA! Almost like an entirely separate shoot. Last weekend’s shoot with Chelsey and John was no exception. And it was super fun.

We decided to start the session in their neighborhood of Columbia Heights and bring their adorable Catahoula pup, Tallulah, along for the fun.  Naturally the bright murals and mosaics around caught our eyes.

We made our way over to the playground area of the elementary school for some fun shots and, okay, to play for a little bit. Chelsey had a great idea to get pictures of the hopscotch numbers for their wedding day: 9-27-14. And there was even a huge map of the United States painted on the ground where we took a picture of them standing where they'll get married—in Iowa, where Chelsey is from!

We then headed back to their place for a quick outfit change before heading out in hopes of having the sunset make an appearance in the shoot. We snuck in a few pictures in the building’s lounge area that was oh-so-swanky. Chelsey’s red dress was just too perfect for it. How could I resist?! And it was a little chilly outside…

Our last stop was Meridian Hill Park. The sunset efforts proved futile, but I still loved the pictures we did get. I mean, these two are so photogenic and adorable together, it's hard not to like a picture of them... (Not biased.)
