Sara & Mike: Family Session

When I first started doing photography full time, a lot of my friends were just finding their person. As such, I started out doing a lot of engagement sessions. Then there was a season of lots of weddings. While I still photograph these sorts of occasions, I noticed my work gravitating a lot more towards family sessions now. It makes sense… a very natural progression, I say! Maybe it goes without saying, but somehow that really hit me when I realized it meant that I got to be there to see the dynamics evolve over the years and meet these tiny, amazing humans who, I swear to God, come out of the womb with damn near fully formed personalities! And I’m always floored to see these parents over the years handling everything that comes their way with such grace.

I remember Sara & Mike’s engagement session like it was yesterday. It’s hard to conceptualize how much time has past and how much has changed over the years. It was so lovely to reconnect with them at the National Arboretum for a morning family photo session in early fall last year. Some of my fave images from the day… xoxo
